Beautiful home. Guides had no problem with questions. Knew the history exactly, without referring to notes. Their knowledge was exceptional.
Lots of interesting information about the sugar cane industry in Australia and its development over time. It's only open 10:30 am to 12 midday, so I would advise arriving here shortly after the opening time. Plan to spend at least an hour looking through if you want to read all the information provided.
Lovely historical home to see and explore.
Beautiful place. Calm serene and the house has a loved feeling. There is a lift if you can't manage the stairs. Fascinating background to the families that owned the house plus other families who started businesses relating to the sugar industry.
Combine with the Hinkler Museum and Botanic gardens all in the same place you have a fantastic full day out. Fairy meadow is a beautiful or house and the museum give a great J insight in to the local sugar industry. Unfortunately not much on the " indentured" Pacific islanders forced to work the future but lots of info on the history and stats
